TIme for kitchen table top / bath cover!

Today while Frank finishes a few plumbing bits and pieces in the kitchen, I’m making a top for our bath, which is doubling as a prep bench, dining table, games tables, work bench etc!

This was a bit of a challenging one, we needed something that was strong enough to take some weight, light enough to not damage the edges of the bath and something that wouldn’t bow with moisture. Lots of head scratching for this one!

We decided on pine click panelling, as it’s strong, light weight, ethically and sustainably sourced and we even had it cut to size (less work for me!) so all I had to do was glue them, click them and voila! Well….not quite that easy! There was also a timber support underneath on two sides that will stop the table top from sliding off when we drive and allow us to pull it forward slightly to let the bath dry/air out.

Now it’s time to paint! Peachy dream is the shade we decided on. How perfect!
