Sunshine = lights!
C’mon baby light my fire…or should I say – power my lights!!
Today we wired up the main power board for our DC power and yep – she works!!
The whole solar system has probably taken around 7 days in total to figure out and install correctly (hopefully correctly!!). The final phase of installing the main power board was especially challenging, as there are no YouTube videos on this topic (that Frank could find anyway)!!! And you know, YouTube is the gospel!! So, a phone call to Pa, a little instruction….then we’re on our own again! Connecting all the positive and negative wires to each fuse, considering earthing, making sure all the connections were safe and working – rather daunting (for a barrista/massage therapist)!!
However, our solar panels are now all hooked up, our batteries are charging from the sun (just in time for Summer!) and we now have both AC and DC power!
With the solar panels being only 3mm thick, Lucy is officially in solar stealth mode!

Are you using a MPPT controller?
Hey there Freetasman!! I’m so sorry, I don’t remember the brand of solar panels and the guy we purchased them from has now sold out and is selling a different type! Sorry! Yes, MPPT controller though 🙂
