Solar panels go up & we have power!!
Today Frank made some adjustments to our solar panels…and by adjustments, I mean pulled the front off and reattached it!!
We originally purchased some adhesive that is specially designed for sunroofs, boat hatches etc. Yes, well that was total rubbish and didn’t dry!! Back to the trusty Sikaflex from Bunnings!
So, up onto the roof Frank gets (with the kitchen spatula!) removes all the glue and reaffixes it. The Sikaflex is probably already dry by now!
Yesterday he also attached the inverter to the batteries, so we have power – woot woot!!! There were only a couple of sparks and bangs in the process, but thankfully all the necessary safety switches are now in!
My task today – figure out the couch and curtains. Turns out our current couch ($35 from the op shop!) has the perfect size base cushions for our couch and we sooo many throw cushions to incorporate into the back. We did find so a really pretty crochet rug so I’ll be getting my sewing on and making 2 x cushions with that, just to add some colour and retro vibes!
Curtains will be fromĀ a recycled piece of cotton fabric we picked up in our travels.
Stay tuned for progress shots!
