Let’s do this!

Yay – day 1 of proper renos has come!

Today we scrubbed Lucy top to toe in preparation for insulation. Then, the first layer, Trade Select wall wrap foil insulation – rating 1.  This first layer is a reflective barrier against heat.

First hurdle…. Frank says “ummm… Juliet, I thought this had a sticky backing on it??” Me…”honey, I have no idea, you ordered it!”   **enter crisis mode**

We run off to the shed (aka man cave) and check the next layer of insulation. No sticky backing here either – eeik!! Back to the drawing board….ohhh…I see, it’s not meant to have a sticky backing, we just read it wrong. Off to Bunnings for permanent strength double sided tape. Crisis averted!

So, we get measuring (first I’m holding the whole damn 5kg roll up on the wall guessing the measurements…) Ahhhh….there is a measuring tape for measuring…dahhh!

Around 4 hours later (including doggy cuddles, playtime and a few cheesey van dance moves) layer one is complete!!

Next stop – ceiling layer.
