~Eco flooring~

Today while I was working on GoPro videos and editing, a sneaky little someone started laying our Tarkett eco, German made timber laminate flooring, and finished in a day!! Talk about smash it out!

Starting at one end, clicking and gluing in place, working up and down, trimming to size and voila! Patchwork  eco, non toxic, fully washable and hard wearing flooring! The final row was obviously the hardest, trying to squeeze in place between the last row and the wall, but with a little finesse (and a lot of brut force!), Frank managed to get the last row in place.

The next day was time to silicon around the edges with a beige toned silicon to colour match the flooring. I thought this would be done in an hour or so….2, 3, 4 hours pass, 5, 6 hours pass. Siliconingggggggg………what a b*#tch of a job! Sticky, oozy, mess. Then over the weekend a plumber friend tells us, “oh yeh, you squeeze the silicon, spray with soapy water, paddle pop stick it smooth and that’s it. The soapy water stops it from getting on the walls and where you don’t want it”. If only we knew this sooner!! Thanks Dave for the tip!!

The finishing touch, a copper toned edging to seal and finish the flooring at the back doors and the sliding side door. It’s all about the details…
