Tune in…zone out

“Most people don’t know how good their body is designed to feel…”

Nothing reminds me of this more, than a morning yoga session.  Tuning in to my breathing, finding my rhythm, hearing the distant hum of chitter chatter, the TV and laughing in the background, but listening to the wind through the trees from the open window. Seeing the leaves falling, snow like pollen from the flowering gum sweeping across the deck and butterflies frolicking in the breeze. Going through my flow and listening to my body, acknowledging where it feels stiff, where I need to focus my attention and remembering that I am forever a student of my practice and that’s it’s ok to still have a way to go. It is a journey after all. I breathe in life, and exhale any worries that I no longer need.

Now, time for lunch and a little work from my hammock “office”!

This weekend we are staying at a beautiful property with some friends in The Basin, at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. This afternoon we will head over to a winery in the Yarra Valley for ‘A Day on the Green’. After 3 weeks of back to back visiting friends and family all over Melbourne, it’s a lovely way to finish up, but we are also very keen to start our journey properly!

Although it’s sunny and we have plenty of solar charge, our Basin base is a good chance to plug in our batteries to mains power to have them at capacity, fill our water tanks and be on our way tomorrow. First stop – Lake Eildon!!
