A simple life doesn’t mean you have to give up make-up!

Many people have said to me “now that you’re travelling, you’ll have to give up make-up and cut your hair short”…. I think not!!

Yes, I am living a simple life, yes my home is in a van and I will be on the road for 6, maybe 12 months, but why does that mean I suddenly have to go fresh faced everyday, have a short “hassle free” hair cut and acquaint myself with a new me?!

While I am most certainly a make up lover, my daily beauty regime is fairly simple and already consists of organic, cruelty free, vegan Inika cosmetics. So for me, van life just means I’ll be mixing it up a little and exploring more of Inika’s wonderful products. I have now added their BB cream and SPF15+ loose mineral powder, which is a quick and easy way to keep my skin healthy, hydrated and protected from the sun, while still giving the coverage I love! Add a little mineral bronzer, blush, charcoal and mascara on the eyes, sunscreen lipgloss and I’m ready to go – all in around 5 minutes tops!

Thankfully I prefer my hair to be a little on the wild side and already being a once a week wash kinda girl (and self confessed dry shampoo lover!) van life really poses no difference in my hairy habits! I may however develop a few dreadlocks as the hair brush is most certainly not my best friend…

So, girly girls, yes there will be humidity, yes there will be a little shiny face (lets go with the term ‘healthy glow’) and a little bit of untamed mane, you can be a van dweller and still put on your pretty face. It’s all about product choices and finding a balance of what works for you. Inika Organics….you’re most definitely all the balance I need!
